Migratory Birding: The Klamath Basin of Northern California and South Central Oregon is home to over 350 species of birds. White pelicans, great blue herons, sand hill cranes, egrets, geese, ducks, grebes, bitterns and osprey can all be seen in the area at different times of year. The Klamath Basin National Wildlife Refuges are home to the largest concentration of wintering Bald Eagles in the lower 48 states. The Winter Wings Festival coincides with the presence of wintering waterfowl and eagles. The focus of the Festival is to share information, increase awareness of community resources and gain an understanding of our wildlife resources, especially the birds of the Klamath Basin.
